Parenteral packaging supplier SCHOTT Pharmaceutical Packaging has announced plans to continue its growth in Russia by increasing the production capacities at its plant in Zavolzhe,Russia by more than 50%.

SCHOTT board of management chairman prof Udo Ungeheuer said the company sees continued growth in demand for locally manufactured primary packaging that meets all of the international standards for quality,as well.

"Expanding our presence in Russia represents an important strategic step for the benefit of our customers,"Ungeheuer said.

The latest move was announced by the company at the Pharmtech trade fair in Moscow.

SCHOTT opened a new good manufacturing practice(GMP)-compliant pharmaceutical packaging plant in the spring of 2011.
